Dear Margaret and family,
I was greatly saddened to hear about David’s passing. He was a good friend and colleague, who will be missed by me and all who knew him. It must be an especially difficult time for his family, and you have my most heartfelt condolences.
I worked closely with David at NES over more than 10 years, and always admired his professionalism and craftsmanship during this time. He was a valued source of advice and information, and made an important contribution to the organisation during its formative years. As a friend we shared mutual interests in sport, music and more, and I appreciated his superb footballing skills on the 5-a-side pitch. He was a peerless striker at NES – well into his sixth decade!
I am so glad I was able to meet David for lunch quite recently, and will remember him as I saw him that day; as a bright, warm and generous friend. He will be missed.
Very best wishes
