Chris, I cannot believe that I am writing this. I was / am so shocked to hear the news of your passing and my first thoughts and condolences are with your family at this time, and hope that they can get a some comfort in the knowledge of how well respected and liked you are.
On a professional basis I will miss having our regular chats about issues of the day, and will always appreciate the advice you have given me in the 9 years that we have known each other. You were always very pragmatic in your views, and I valued the way in which you which you gave honest opinions in a well-intentioned manner.
On a personal level, I will always remember the way that the majority of our calls were more than just work. Whether talking about inane issues of the day in the news, or debating the larger life conundrums, your dry sense of humour was always evident.
You were a pleasure to work with and will be greatly missed.
