I had the pleasure of working with David, and his wife Carole, since the beginning of my career in educational development in early 1997. They were both so supportive and encouraging of my work, initially through HEFCE’s Fund for the Development of Teaching & Learning (FDTL) and later through SEDA. Quiet, calm and yet with strong leadership and vision – they have been inspirational and motivational for me personally and highly influential in learning and teaching across the sector. David has made an invaluable contribution to the enhancement of higher education for staff and students, as well as being great fun to work with. He will be missed.
