David Carter (DC)

DC was my trainer and mentor when I first joined HKDC back in 2001. Whilst most of what he told me went in one ear and out the other, the one thing that struck a chord with me was how passionate he was about his work. He could wax lyrical about a MAWB and make an import license seem like a thing of beauty! His enthusiasm was undeniable and I thank him for all he taught me. He was never too busy to talk or help and I recall many occasions on the old 8th floor of the Kennedy Town office where he would gladly offer his time to chat with me and impart his wisdom.

My last time to see DC was at the company 25th anniversary dinner where his appearance quite rightly brought the house down! A standing ovation closely followed by floods of tears from many, myself included. It was an absolutely brilliant moment and fitting for one of the original gang. A gentle giant with a huge heart. He will be sorely missed by all.
