Dear Angela

I was so sorry to get your message about Shabaka’s passing.  He and I became friends and colleagues through Carnival, and through our many discussions and negotiations I learned to respect his remarkable gifts.  He was a great man, and I learned a lot from him.  Take care, look after yourself, and cherish his memory.
