After so many years, it seems hard to think that Dick has finally passed, he was more than just a brother in law, but a friend who helped when I had various medical problems and needed a period of recuperation before returning to normal life. In more recent years, regular visit to quizzes at different locations around Cardiff, in both quiz leagues and just social quizzes, highlighted his extensive quizzing knowledge, and although there was a competitive edge, it never overtook the fun of being there in the pub. With the assistance of James, he was able to continue attending quizzes after he stopped driving, and I was glad to be able to provide lifts both to and from the quiz location. I found Dick to be a reserved person, and am not sure I ever got to know all his ways, but am still glad to have been able to know him for the length of time I did.
