Maxine, it’s a privilege to call you my sister,  friend and colleague.

Your death is an insult to humanity.

I cannot comprehend why God has taken you from us.

It was like yesterday you were the Chair of Streatham Ethnic Minorty Forum and I served with you as your Vice Chair from 2016 to 2020.

You campaigned with me as a councillor candidate in 2017, now I am a Councillor and the Deputy Mayor of Lambeth. We encouraged each other. You excelled to the position of the first black Chair of Streatham CLP.

Just over 3 weeks ago we were Streatham delegates together at the London Labour Party Regional Conference, I supported you to be our Lead delegate and you were elected as one of the Executives.

I can’t stop reading your delightful text to me on 24 of July 2021

Who would believe at the time that you would be gone like a candle in the wind in less than 4 weeks after. I need to stop crying and accept God loves you best.

You would remain ever green in my heart.

Goodnight Sis.

I believe you are now Tayo’s Guardian Angel.

My condolences to William and the rest of the family.
