Don Henson

When I started out in public access archaeology in York I was lucky to meet Don quite early on and found him to be a fountain of knowledge and an inspiration on how to engage with young people about archaeology. I remember one time I went to a heritage education conference in Bristol and felt a bit out on a limb as I didn’t know many people –  but Don made me feel welcome, took me for a beer in the evening and walked me back to my hotel! Such a kind and genuine man, with a fab sense of fun too. Such a very sad loss. 😞
