I knew Tim from the age of 16.I have so many memories and I would like to share just a couple .We were round my aunt’s who liked classical music and I said I liked the Old Spice music and Tim in his Dulwich school accent said Dear Boy it’s Carmina Burana by Carl Orff as though everyone should know that. I have always remembered that title. It’s dramatic and entertaining just like Tim.We went to gigs, Sex Pistols@ Finsbury park Spear of Destiny @ Hammersmith Palais among the notable.
In the late 90’s we went to the Philippines for a Holiday. We arrived late and I was knackered but Tim wanted to go out.Anyway to cut a long story short I ended up in a police cell and my 1 call was to Tim who made it back to the hotel.Anyway he managed to negotiate my release with my money and his charm. On this trip we split up and arranged to.meet a week later. Tim turned up with loads of new chums.I always thought he was like the Piped Piper.Wherever he was, he was surrounded by people.
I didn’t see Tim for a while but we met up again in 2015 and he was exactly the same as when I first met him. That summer we watched the ashes and it was good to see him.He and I loved sport and betting .it’s very poignant writing this with Cheltenham on this week.I’m sure he has managed to get a bet on ! The more I write the more you remember.
The last time I saw him was in 2016 and as I left the house in Forest Hill Road the music was blaring, Tim was pooging and the house was full of people
Wherever he is now I’m sure he will be doing the same
Thanks for the memories
