I met Ewan when we started at BAE back in 1990, we went through college together and that alone creates a sense of fraternity. But the mark of a true friend is someone who’s there in a time of need, Ewan was exactly that to me providing real friendship and support through a difficult phase in my life. Important things often go unsaid and I wish I’d told him how much I valued that.
I will always regard Ewan as being his own man; he knew his own mind, he had the courage of his convictions and had the drive and determination to make his ideas a reality. Ewan was one of the brightest people I’ve met, and in the workplace I saw him readily win the respect of those whom others found difficult.
I still can’t believe he’s gone, but sometimes people leave you with something that you take forward and Ewan will never be forgotten, I’ll think of him whenever I hear Van Halen, and he will always be missed.
