It was with  great sadness that we have learned of the passing of our dear friend James. James was a regular visitor to our school where he coached our boys and girls in both foundation and Key Stage one. The children loved to see him arriving in school and he initiated a love of Gaelic Games in many of the children. He also gave up his free time to coach our Key Stage 2 children in handball and also hurling/camogie. He also organised tournaments to allow the children to put their skills into action. His enthusiasm for the games and his ability to include even the very reluctant were signs of his care for others. He also had time to share his expertise and humour with the adults in school and gave us many ideas to include in our own PE lessons. James will be sadly missed and fondly remembered as a teacher, coach and friend of our school. We send condolences to his family at home and 🔝 at Whitehill. May James’ gentle soul rest in peace. St Michael pray for him.
