There are wonderful condolence messages being sent to the Royal Family at this time which is of course so very sad for them.  We share in that grief – Her Majesty was a remarkable Queen and a lady worthy of great personal admiration. 

One aspect of her life to which I would like to draw attention was the complex executive nature of her work combined with heavy travel commitments, daunting diary obligations, and being a mother of four children; not to mention constant pressure from the Press and Social Media and coping with painful family disappointments.  This feels a very modern scenario. 

An amazing lady – particlarly for one of her generation – a life more contemporary than might meet the eye, yet she maintained impeccable traditional values.  May we learn from her example.  I can think of no one who took the wartime slogan of “Keep Calm and Carry On” to greater heights.

I will miss you, Your Majesty.
