Dougie was a very talented person and could turn his hand to any job and always seemed to have some project on the go. When we called in to see them in March 2016 at Casa Sophie the most significant alterations were a refurbished kitchen and a walk in shower by the pool which Dougie had done to his usual high standard.

Dougie entered into the spirit of the many ‘ Denny Do’s ‘ even dressing up on some occasions. Dougie’s kindness and thoughtfulness even extended to his horses who he thought might be lonely in the field by themselves so he got the horses a companion – a sheep and called the sheep Baarby. Dougie was very dependable and always seemed cool, calm and collected – you could say he was a salt of the earth, a lovely man who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
