Ian Findlay CBE

Such devastating news, my thoughts are with Ian’s family, friends and colleagues. I had the privilege of serving on ACOSVO board with Ian for seven years till November 2020. For five of those years we were convenor and vice convenor. Ian was the kindest of men who always gave me time, a listening ear and a sense of calm wisdom.  A great leader, who, over the years, I had the privilege of calling Ian a friend, someone I could look up to, rely on and have deep conversations with. I can smile at how he led the Active Leader walks, had us exercising during board meetings and encouraged us all to be more active.  Whether we had a walking meeting or chatted over tea and cake, I thoroughly enjoyed Ian’s company. It was only a few days ago, in my last email from Ian, he was hoping we could meet up in Stirling at our favourite cake shop when the restrictions eased. Ian’s generosity of spirit, kindness and wisdom will live on, he leaves such a huge legacy for others to follow.
