I worked closely with Don on the CBA Education Committee, 2003-2006, and we remained good friends thereafter.  Don was a great professional, but so much more than that.  I remember his tremendous enthusiasm, warmth, and likeable character; he brought a deep sense of commitment and purpose to everything that he did.  The world of archaeology is a much poorer place for his passing.  I will miss him greatly.
