My sincere condolences to Helen and family on your great loss.  I knew Robbie mostly in his capacity as a member of the Council of the Soldiers’ and Airmen’s Scripture Readers Association, during my tenure as General Secretary.  He was a tower of strength in his outstanding contribution to the direction and governance of the Association.  Robbie’s strong Christian character was inspirational to those who had the pleasure of working alongside him in the cause of the Gospel.   His approach was always measured and he could always be relied upon to provide sound and reliable counsel.  His sense of humour was infectious and he could always defuse a tense situation.  Robbie was a pleasure to be with and was generous in his appreciation – well able to build people up in discouraging situations.  His warmth, kindness and generosity of spirit will be sorely missed.
