Colonel the Reverend Robbie George Russel Hall QGM

Robbie first came into my life in 1977 when we came head to head during mess games in Chattenden, YO63 vs YO64.  I was the stronger, he was quicker!!  Three years later we were neighbours in Nienburg at the Holtorf flats.  Helen and Sue set up close ties helping each other with the first of our offspring (Ben and Ben) while we were off ‘playing in our tanks’ – the girls have been buddies ever since.  Over the years our close friendship enabled us to support each other as our families grew in number.  We were neighbours again in Brompton in the late 80s.  Our love of adventure, outdoor activities and a gang of young sons to educate/entertain saw us climb hills and paddle rivers to our hearts content.  The boys grew and flew and we settled to life away from the military but our friendship continued with regular visits to see each other.  I was honoured to be able to spend time with Robbie and Helen and call them friends.  Robbie was a man driven by his Faith and his enthusiam for life was infectious.  We will miss you Robbie.  Rest in Peace.
