It was so so sad to hear that Martin had passed away, such an amazing man and life force, as well as having a great sense of humour and as Michele Legg mentioned – cheeky!

Inspirational, and kind, Martin shared his own bereavement experiences with me to help me through a difficult time in my life.

I hope in reading this Condolence Book and all the other many messages on the Wakeley home page that Heather and the family see how much Martin was appreciated and respected, and loved.

Thank you for everything Martin, you were and still are my hero 🙂 so sad we will never get to work together again, nor talk about a great passion we shared (not football) but food.

I’ve attached a photo of Martin at a Christmas lunch where he was acting as quiz master.  This is how I will remember Martin, being cheeky.
