Ian Findlay CBE

Snowdrops

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Ian’s premature death and would like to express my sympathy and condolences to his family.  I admired Ian for the way in which he lived his values. I found the regular landscape photos he posted during 2020, reflecting the pleasure he took in his local landscapes and walks, often with his grandchild, to be a much-needed reminder of the joy to be found in everyday experiences. At the professional gatherings where I met Ian, I found him to be a wise, thoughtful and patient leader, passionate about the causes for which he worked.  He will indeed be missed.

I should like also, on behalf of the RSA, which I represent on the Scottish Alliance for People and Places, to express its sorrow and and to offer its condolences.
