Rod Newman

The term ‘legend’ is nowadays overused but, to all who served on MUAS/MASUAS, that is what Rod became. I hope it brings his family some comfort to know how much he was loved and respected, and how many people share their loss. He inculcated in so many young men and women an enduring love of flying and aviation, many of whom went on to have long careers themselves. Sadly, my own professional career came to an end with retirement at the end of October, 49 years since I first took the controls of an aircraft and over 45 years since my first RAF flight – at RAF Woodvale in January 1975. Rod will be remembered with love and affection by all of us who have been privileged to know him and fly with him, and he will always have a special place in our hearts and memories.
Tout circulaire bon oeuf!
