David Andrew Harkins

Dearest David, I struggle to write this as I then have to accept this is true and my heart goes out to Oly, your family and close friends. So many fond memories over the past 3 decades. I feel privileged to have know you as a close colleague, confidant and true friend.

From our first meeting at Ludgate where you asked me what I knew about autism. Then working on so many projects together over the years, always aiming to get it right for ‘folks.’ From co-presenting at our first national conference together, and being your ‘plus 1’ at QS awards ceremony.

It will be our personal chats that I will miss most. The funny stories bringing lots of giggles, or hearing about your proud uncle moments and sharing some of life’s struggles.

The days ahead will be hard for all that knew and loved you but I can already hear your voice in my head, asking the right questions (and the hard ones) to help me make the right decisions. You will live on in our thoughts. xxx
