Joy Murray

We all have such fond and vivid memories of Joy. She was a great friend and support to my parents Bill and Rosemary during her time as churchwarden at Holy Trinity (she would share many a text with Dad about the latest Test match results!) and a treasured friend and support to me personally. She had great wisdom, thoughtfulness and kindness not to mention a forthright mind and a wonderful sense of mischief and fun as can be seen from the photo of her gleeful “playing” of the rifle in Malcolm Arnold’s Grand grand Overture with the symphony orchestra!Joy was a warm and welcoming presence at our Stroud Symphony Orchestra and Capriol Chamber Orchestra concerts and many of our players also have fond memories of her. Her light and laughter will live on in our hearts and memories. Rest in Peace Joy x
