I knew Nick through the CLIVE initiative in the 1990s when I was new to higher education and was inspired by Nick’s enthusiasm to applying new technologies to teaching.  I also was impressed in later years at his great enthusiasm and ability to obtain funding for applying his innovative ideas to help veterinarians and animal keepers in developing countries diagnose and treat disease in livestock more effectively – this exemplifies Nick’s desire to use his talents to help others throughout the world. He definitely managed to make a difference to many people’s lives through these significant initiatives – I will remember him with great admiration.
