Tony was a tremendous guy.

I worked with him for several years, I was the designer on the project but benefited hugely from the practical knowledge that Tony brought to the job. He was always polite and considered in discussions even though I am sure on occasions he felt like throttling me.

As part of my role I arranged for secondments to site for several young graduates and apprentices for 6 months or 6 week stints and when they returned to the design office it was very clear they had learnt a great deal from Tony on the practicalities of site work.

He will be hugely missed by all. I for one feel very fortunate to have known him.
