Dr Roderick Guy Jackson

I was shocked to have found out about Guy’s passing over a year after it happened. Along with Guy, Steve O’Grady and others we formed a rock band during our Undergraduate years at King’s College, London. I am not in the picture as the drummer I was taking photos. The band was formed to raise money to fund a CT scanner for King’s College Hospital following the stabbing of PC Hammond who walked into a shop robbery on Lordship Lane, Dulwich. Guy was in the year above me so when I stayed on to undertake an intercalated BSc Guy crossed the Thames to undertake his clinical studies. Our paths drifted away but via Doctors.net we caught up in 2015.

I had no idea of his demons because medicine can put time and distance between friendships. Add family into the mix and many friendships fall by the wayside.

I would be grateful if Dr Mira Razzaque would contact me as I would like to use her words and photo for obituaries I would like to submit to the BMJ and the King’s Alumni magazine ‘In Touch’ as I cannot be the only former classmate who did not find out about Guy’s passing so late.

Take care Guy RIP mate
