So very sad and shocked to hear of David’s passing. I was fortunate to hear him speak at a number of events and we hosted him in New Zealand where he spoke to our students at Massey University. David was a great advocate for the profession and for improving our mental health. He conveyed a joy for life, the outdoors and exercise and these were all evident in his impressive exploits documented on facebook. He was a kind and humble man and clearly loved his family. I consider myself fortunate to have spent a couple of evenings with him in NZ and Australia. He will be very much missed by so many around the world. Sincere condolences to his family – a mighty totara (native tree in NZ) has fallen. May we all continue to work in his memory – towards improving the wellbeing of all those within the veterinary profession and our wonderful paraprofessionals. Kia kaha (stay strong).
