I first met Dorothy at a Fabian Society event which I arranged as part of a series commissioned by Housing 21 and Counsel and Care (now Independent Age) on the situation of older people in society. The event was about housing and care and it was suggested that I approach Dorothy to speak. I had never met her, nor heard her speak, but she was just fabulous. What she did was challenge all the other speakers, and the audience, to start from the viewpoint of older people. She ‘blew them all away’ with her passion, knowledge, compassion and understanding of the issues. The event was so much more exciting with her involvement. When I joined NDTi I was delighted to see her again. Her passion never faltered and she was just a thoroughly lovely person. Bless you Dorothy x
