Paul and I send our condolences to Prince Philip’s family following his passing..all four generations. I wanted to record my happy memories of Prince Philip whose name was mentioned nearly everyday in our household because of the Prince Philip Cup…this was a network of gymkhana events held across the country for those of us lucky enough to have ponies on which to compete. Unlike most equestrian events , this did not require expensive well bred ponies; we competed on ponies that could have been designed by Thelwell and we were highly competitive, fighting to get into the local Prince Philip Cup team and travel the country. Hence the constant reference to HRH when 2 or more of us were gathered together. In this, as in many ways, Prince Philip will remain in our lives.
