Paul Vernon

Paul was one of the kindest, most caring people I have ever met. A man that, many years ago, shaped the person I have become today. Not only did he make my mum the happiest woman in the world, he brought structure and a family safe nest to my life filled with love, respect, kindness and care. It was truly what he portrayed and wanted for everyone, and he cared so much about the people who were around him. Paul was a friend, a brother and a father to me, I was a very lucky person to have had all 3 bonds and levels of relationships built into one. He educated me and was always there to help me if I needed it.

People talk about walking the talk and how sometimes a lot of us need to walk the talk. Paul just walked and everything would just happen in front of our eyes. Not many people I know can speak volumes without having to actually talk about it. Anyone who followed in his foot steps knew this. Paul was never out to prove himself – his kind warm heart was always there to help. Most of us probably have 5 people in our lives we can trust – if you knew Paul, he was one of those 5.

Highly respected by so many including myself; a man I look up to and, strangely, even more so now as that’s where he is. He became Grandad to my unbelievable daughter and began a very special journey with her, introducing her to the digital age using his great wisdom around computers and programming. I know Margot was everything to him. His time with her may have been short but it was very precious. It’s all he spoke about. Margot was his world. He loved watching her grow and watching her intelligence develop gave him immense pleasure. It filled him with joy knowing she is going to be one smart cookie!

Paul, you will live on in my heart and all our hearts forever. Your warrior legacy is untouchable and indestructible and will carry through the family. Something as special as you could never be taken away from us. Thank you for everything you have done for my mum, my family & daughter and most importantly thank you for guiding me and helping me achieve my own personal goals and for being the person who was always there if I needed help. Without your mentoring and guidance, I wouldn’t be who I am today. I love you very much.
