I worked with Brian on Police Powers in the early 2000’s when I was in my early twenties and new to the Home Office. He had an unbelievabale knowledge of the subject area that came from both his practical experience as a Police Officer and an apitutde for understanding law and legislation. He always made time to explain things to me and was a person who enjoyed passing on knowledge and meaning in Police work. More than that, he was the wise and humorous member of a team we worked in that I will always remember fondly as friendship and mutual pride in public service.
