Kathryn Rudd OBE

Kathryn, my dear friend. Taken from us far too soon. We had a connection from when you first started out at National Star and that special bond remained throughout your time here. It was always a pleasure to be working with you. You were just the most lovely, friendly person. You always had time for everyone and were genuinely interested in them. Your passion for supporting young people with disabilities transmitted into tireless work that has transformed the lives of so many.

As well as friendship you gave me much support and I was honoured that there were times when I was able to return that. There are so many memories, not all for publishing, that I hold dear. Whenever I pass Weston-super-Mare on the motorway it brings to mind our Away Days there. And the Artic Monkeys remind me that you were a great quiz partner. And then there’s The Fratellis… (I’ve still got the CD). You know what these mean and there were so many more. We shared a questionable sense of humour and I can not picture you without your welcoming smile. In the words of Madness – It must be Love. Hublie xx
