Dearest Angela, Oba and family,

Please accept deepest condolences from our family for your loss. I hope you take comfort in the outpouring of love, admiration, pride, for your husband and father as thousands acknowledge Shabaka’s greatness, humility, kindness, creativity, humour, love for our culture and the African Caribbean arts, and his profound goodness as a human being. Of course these will all be a speck in contrast to the void he leaves, but I hope this at least our words of comfort bring some reprieve to your grief at this time.
