As a family we still struggle to believe that Bernard is no longer with us. He has certainly left an indelible mark and he will be missed; he is irreplacable.
Bernard came into our lives ten years ago to tutor our elder son. He then tutored our younger son through his A-Levels and rather than bid him au-revoir, Yasmin and I engaged our interest in languages with him. He was a wonderful tutor with a gentle and probing method who always pushed just the right amount. On some days we would come home after a hard day at work the last thing we wanted was an hour on Skype learning. He managed to fill every lesson with learning and laughter. His passion for languages and teaching will live on through us.
Our thoughts and sympathies are with his nearest and dearest.
