Steve Alexander

Steve was well known for his various sayings at work, so we thought we’d share a few of them with you…

 “We start again Monday…”

The phrase used at the end of the month, even after hitting target.

“Be on the front foot”

Think ahead, plan, be prepared.

“Jump out of the bushes”

Things that he wasn’t expecting to happen or be asked about (normally as a result of not being on the front foot…).

“Flossy”

The name given to a member of the field sales when giving an example. E.g. “If Flossy sells 8 PayPoint Ones in a month she would earn…”

“Alright fella?!”

A greeting given to a male colleague.

“Here she/he is!”

A greeting given to a fellow colleague.

“Christ! Look at that barnet!”

A greeting given to anyone with a lot of hair (normally Ben Dodwell).

“Sausage”

The name affectionately given to Joe Pniok.

“Ah bloody hell, I’m havin’ a right nightmare trying to share my screen”

The phrase used by Steve when he needed to share a presentation on Microsoft Teams.

“Safe environment”

Whatever you shared was private and confidential.

“Two ears, one mouth”

Shut up and listen!

“Ooooooh check out that gilet!”

A compliment given to anyone wearing one of Steve’s favourite pieces of clothing – a gilet!

“Hope Arsenal lose 37-0 tomorrow”

A parting goodbye given to an Arsenal fan (normally Josh Lloyd!).

We all miss Steve’s sayings just as much as we miss him x

From the mouth of Steve...
