Stephen Fell
My deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Stephen’s family. Stephen was truly one of the loveliest men – he was a warmhearted, interesting and interested man, always ready to help. I remember sitting opposite him during many staff meetings, admiring his sense of humour and his colourful ties. The last time I spoke to him was when we were sharing invigilation duties during mock exams. And the last time I saw him was on the very last day of the term. It was late afternoon, the sunset behind Kent College was stunning, all the lessons had finished and Stephen was walking towards the Great Hall with his big brown school bag. That image froze and I have held it vividly in my heart since. It is the image of an incredibly kind and unique man, dedicated to his pupils and his job, a wonderful colleague who has given so freely and so much to others. He will leave a big gap at Kent College but he will be held firmly in our memories. Franziska Payer Crockett/German Department at Kent College
