Dear Michelle and Frances and Family, and Brothers & Sisters en Sesel:

Please accept my deepest condolences on the death of your father, a man of great spiritual leadership for the church in Seychelles, the Province of the Indian Ocean, and the wider Anglican Communion. I Ours is a world that is diminished now that he is no longer with us, but we trust in God, and give thanks for Bishop French’s witness to and proclamation of the gospel. I had the privilege of meeting Bishop French 25 years ago while on an internship in Seychelles. I remember well his humor, his vision for the church, and his very delicious cooking. He was truly a good person, and by God’s mercy, he now hears the words: “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
