The Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER) in Brussels is deeply saddened to hear of the loss of John Barber. John was a very knowledgeable and engaged railway expert and actively contributed to the work of our railway association at European level. He always kept cool when the temperature raised in the room and encouraged people to speak when breaking the silence was needed. We appreciated his contributions greatly but even more his character and unique sense of humour. We will remember him as both a gentleman and a great colleague. Please accept our heartfelt condolences.
