So sad to hear of Ian’s death. Ian was just a year away in the same degree at Edinburgh University some 40 years ago. Our paths crossed many times since then. Ian and I went through Ranger Training together at Battleby, with many a beer in the hotel in Stanley and visits to Gartmorn Dam CP. He had the full hair and beard! At the Scottish Wildlife Trust we were Regional Directors. Ian’s Paths For All work took him to new heights and we caught up on serendipitous train journeys and conferences. The Scottish public, past and present, have much to thank Ian for in the physical access network and policy legacy he leaves behind.
