While I do not recall many circumstances of most of my calls, I have very vivid memories of many calls with Richard. Most of them at very odd hours for Richard and under immense time pressure. Many of them including very helpful advice what could and should be done – both internally at Kantar and client-facing. And all of them with Richard being a trusted advisor, one that could unpack legal jargon and explain what it really means. And an ability to listen and to understand and to know when to push and when to stop.
I wasn’t aware of Spine Counsel’s purpose that Nilema has reminded us to, but this is exactly what he did – changing my perception of what lawyers can do. He truly leaves a legacy.
The news of his passing is incredibly sad and leaves me in shock. Kantar and the World have lost a passionate friend.
