Dearest Fabian 

It’s still hard to believe you are gone, how I wish we could have more time together. 

Over the 10 years I have known you, I don’t think I ever heard you say a bad word or negative comment about anyone or anything, such was your kind, caring and supportive nature.  You were a joy to have in the team and I feel so thankful that I had the opportunity to work with you at the Royal Free and then again at UCLH.  I was always able to rely on you and no matter the task, you completed it calmly, efficiently, and superbly….as well as quietly, you never did like to boast or shout about your accomplishments (of which there were many).  

I will always remember our chats about our houseplants and how best to tend to the more temperamental ones we both had! I’ll also really miss hearing you talk about Berlin and time spent in Germany with your family. Next year won’t be the same without one of your calendars on the wall.
