Brandusa was a dear friend and also one of my biggest cheerleaders as I was trying to get off the ground both my legal business as well as the First 100 Years campaign. Her being a finalist in 2018 and coming with Kara to the ceremony is one of the most treasured moments of our awards ceremonies, ever. We worked across the road, we were both English solicitors of Romanian origin, we had so many things we could talk about, but also something more special that created a bond on so many levels. Remembering our walk when she broke the news of her illness to me over 1 year ago – it was incomprehensible to me that a generous, wonderful, positive and young person would potentially be taken from us so quickly. So unfair and arbitrary and I was so inspired by her courage and the energy with which she embarked on trying to overcome this awful illness. Losing her is so hard and we think often of Horia and her children and parents, the many moments of candour and learning they will be missing out over the years. But our memories shared here hopefully will provide some comfort that Brandusa was much loved, is incredibly missed and will be forever remembered.
