Professor Neil Bulleid

I was a member of the Bulleid lab for 6 years (2012 – 2018) where Neil firmly became a scientific mentor instilling confidence, leadership and a high standard of experimental design in me which has enabled myself to progress within the scientific community. I am forever grateful to him and enjoyed his friendship, guidance and support during my time in the lab and long after. It is truly a deeply felt loss to all who knew him and my heartfelt condolences go to the Bulleid family at this difficult time. I want to express how important Neil was to me and how much he has helped me as I know he has done to some many other students and staff who have worked for him over the years.

He had a cheeky sense of humour and always made the lab a fun place to be. He challenged and praised his staff and students in the right way to ensure they performed to the best of their ability always with the comfort and knowledge of his support. He made discussing science a joy with enthusiasm and passion which was infectious and something which will be sorely missed. I have always held his opinion in such high regard and felt a sense of pride working within the Bulleid lab.

It was a privilege to work with Neil. He was a greatly admired and respected person and will be dearly missed.
