I met Ron for the first time at Woodspirit camp in 2019. I was fortunate enough to birth my First drum with Ron along with Marie Johnstone. It was a beautiful sunny day at camp, I was a little apprehensive about birthing a drum, if I am honest.Ron put us at ease and helped us pick our skin for the drums. We did a shamanic journey to connect with the drum rim and skin before we began.
I had never properly met Ron before this day. We must have spent around 6 hours birthing the drums and chatting away. Ron was a good teacher very patient and helpful.
I really enjoyed listening to his life story and connected with him instantly. We where both ex army and shared our experiences.
This was the begining of a lovely freindship, I loved his colourful stories, lust for life and cheecky chappy demeanour. Full of wisdom and one of the kindest souls I have ever met .
I only had the pleasure of knowing Ron for a short time, but I feel I hadbrightest known him so much longer. I shared some of the best times with Ron and Chris at Silvedale and in Wales when we shared a Shalley at Pontins.
My life is brighter for having one life’s brightest stars in it.
I will miss his smile and chuckles, his drumming, dancing and good advice.
Thank you for being in my life then and now my Shamanic guide 🤗❤️🙏
