Dr Michael Stuart Musgrave

Michael was such a wonderful man.  We worked closely together at Bupa for a number of years and became friends.  I was lucky to have his friendship.

He was always willing to listen and offer advice.  His calm and caring nature was unique and I have genuinely never met anyone like him.  We had fabulous evenings out with other colleagues, where we enjoyed his great company, conversation, good (french) wine and food.  We also ran Bupa events together, the Great South Run and London 10k, where I was lucky enough to meet his son Jamie.  A few of us were also so touched to be invited to his family home, where we met the lovely Annick and were treated to a real feast and plenty of Champagne! I have great memories of him.

I must also take up his recommendation of transcendental meditation, which he gently encouraged me to try on a number of occasions.  He was so wise and I know how much it enriched his life, so I will take this advice.

He always spoke so fondly of his wonderful wife and family; he was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren.  I know you gave him strength and huge support.  I loved hearing the stories about you all.  I have missed Michael at Bupa since his retirement and often think about him.  I’m so sorry about his illness and so deeply sad that he has gone.  I’m sure he is at peace now.  Sending my condolences to his family for the loss of a true gentleman and a really good man.
