I met David when he spoke at an Australian Veterinary Association conference about mental wellbeing and veterinary professionals. I had read his papers. His work was very important, it gave momentum to a critical discussion which is ongoing. He then visited me in Sydney and we went to Bondi Beach with my now late dog Phil, before he accompanied me to volunteer for Pets in the Park. He was warm, curious, compassionate and keen to help others. He was committed to his health and wellbeing and really wanted to connect. Some years later he agreed to write the foreward to The Vet Cookbook. It was a generous contribution from a kind soul. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. I am so terribly sorry for your loss.
