Olga Elizabeth Rowson

Dearest Olga

You have always been one of the highlights of our annual trip to Guernsey. Always so cheerful and welcoming.  Dad always looked forward to seeing you and enjoying tea and cakes together (I think you both rather enjoyed the cakes). He always thought of you as his “third daughter”, which I think means that he saw you as a close part of our family.

Years ago when I spent the summer with you and the family, while working in the shop, during my summer vacation; you made me feel so welcome and I loved spending time with you and the family. My memories of a trip to Malta, which you and Barry invited me on as a “hired help” for the boys are so happy.  We had great fun creating chaos wherever we went but laughing such a lot. Now the boys are grown with there own families, I know that you are so proud of them and share in their happiness.

I am sad that I won’t see you again but I have so many happy memories you will always make me smile.

Lots of love
