Olga Elizabeth Rowson
Dear John,Barry, David and family,
I was so sorry to hear about the sudden death of your mother. I had the pleasure of working with Olga at Castle Cornet. She was such a lovely person to work with, always so conscientious, polite, hard working and couldn’t do enough to help her work colleagues and customers alike – she always gave 110 percent during her shift, she would never cut corners and always followed the correct protocol. Olga was a very private person, she didn’t involve herself in gossip, she had a great sense of humour and she soon became a great friend.
Just a couple of my memories of working with Olga at the Castle are:
Wearing her rollers under her woolly hat whilst doing her Rover duty during the many windy, wet days we had there to ensure her hair would look nice for the afternoon when she was going out for lunch.
She never wanted to ever let anyone down or miss a shift and so she had a very complicated looking set of paperwork upon which she recorded all her rota duties. Whenever we wanted to do a swop these notes came out and we would both be in hysterics sorting through all the sheets of paper trying to work out how we could swop shifts so Olga could babysit or I could have a Saturday or Sunday off.
Thank you for enabling us to pay our respects to Olga today and to remember what a lovely, warm hearted, generous lady she was. We will all miss her xxxxx
