Danny Graymore

Dearest Louise, Jem, Rose and Elijah,

You don’t need to be told by us that Danny was an amazing man, you know that already, but he was. He had a knack of making people feel completely at ease – Linda still appreciates how warm and welcoming he was of her, into our friendship circle, when we started going out together all those years ago. So many lovely evenings in your warm homes in Stoke Newington, so many interesting conversations on topics from organic food to music. So much delicious food! He was such a kind, generious man, with big and great ideas but also respectful of the views of others and a great listener.  Danny once told us that he considered becoming a barrister, as a means of driving change on environmental issues. In the end, he made a much better decision in going in to international development, where he helped improve the lot of millions, for which he was justly recognised with an OBE. Although we haven’t seen Danny since you all came to stay for a lovely weekend a few years ago, we never felt far away from him either, knowing things would just pick up where they were left when we did, as if none of us have been apart. It is devastating to know that will not happen now, not in this earthly life.

He strongly valued family and it there that he leaves his greatest legacy of all – you guys.

We send our love and prayers.

Andy and Linda and family.

Andy and Linda
