I was deeply saddened to hear about Olivia’s passing. I had the privilege of working with her at OEE since I joined in 2015, and in all that time, she was truly a ray of sunshine in our lives. She was someone that nothing was every too much trouble, and that perfection was not only the goal, but the standard.
Olivia was always in the office early, and I came to look for her little Mini in the car park each morning—it was a quiet reassurance that the day would be better simply because she was there. Her kindness, warmth, and positivity lifted the whole team, and she had that rare gift of making those around her feel better for her presence.
I often brought donuts and sweets into the office, but as Olivia prepared for her wedding to Jason, her discipline was remarkable. She managed to resist the treats for months, and soon enough, my daily order shifted to include fruit and healthier options (as well as the donuts)—just one small example of how she led by quiet, joyful example. She made the people around her better, simply by being herself.
Olivia was one of those very rare people about whom no one had a bad word to say. That alone was a testament to her character, her grace, and the love that surrounded her. She will be missed more than words can say, and her memory will be cherished by everyone who had the joy of knowing her.
