I joined the university of Aberdeen as a direct entry student in my second year during the height of covid-19. I barely knew anyone but Dr. David Sutherland comforted our anxieties during these times and always supported and encouraged us. He always supported me in my work, especially when I needed it most. He was a truly fantastic teacher who was so passionate about his students and his work and he will be sorely missed.
